Success Story – Catherine Coker

Hello, my name is Catherine. I've had the pleasure of being cared for by the Howell Medilodge staff and physical therapy specialists. My journey began last year when I was admitted twice to the Howell medilodge. The first time was January 2019. I was in a bad accident involving multiple injuries. My foot was severely broken. With a lot of hard work and an excellent staff, I was able to go home in June 2019. Unfortunately, a severe and aggressive infection caused my foot to be amputated in December 2019. I knew that the Howell Medilodge could and would provide a skillful environment for physical therapy and healing. Getting ready for a prosthetic leg and foot has been challenging, and the daily physical therapy as been very difficult. All made possible by the kind supportive staff here at the Howell MedilodgeI would definitely recommend the Howell Medilodge to friends and family. My mother had come to MediLodge of Howell and went home completely healed. The staff is phenomenal and compassionate. I wouldn't choose any other place! Natasha and Joey were exceptional in helping me get him [my brother Timothy] set up, I was so overwhelmed and they were kind and helpful. The staff is the best, and no other facility will ever compare to the level of care that my family has received here!

I came here after ankle joint replacement (surgery). I cannot still use my left foot as I am not allowed to weight on it for two more weeks. However, physical therapists showed me how to get on an out of a wheelchair without using my left foot and also how to use a knee roller properly. I am going home and able to get around by myself! (The people who wor here are very helpful and pleasant!)

To all the personnel that went the extra mile for our mother, Helen Brochowski, and gave her the gift of time. Your loving care is much appreciated, and you made such a difference. Thanks for all you do!

I came here because I was in a car accident and my leg was broken. I couldn't go home due to my injuries. The therapists helped me walk again and regain my strength. While I was here, I lost my balance and fell, but the therapist helped me increase my balance and safety so I could get back home independently with everything I needed.

Dear Staff, Nurses & all other employees at MediLodge of Howell, I just wanted to take time to thank you for going above and beyond the 'job description' in showing love, compassion, patience, and kindness. It takes a special gift to work with elderly people who are now facing a difficult [moment in their life]. Even those of you who are janitors and kitchen help, please know that your smiles, jokes, and sweet words made such a difference in my mom's life. Many of you she loved as her extended family. PT/OT/ST was awesome in getting her to participate in therapy; from admission to discharge, all staff facilitated a smooth transition, home care and equipment were ready and discharge done quickly. My mother improved and always praised the staff. Everyone smiled!

August 2019, I entered rehabilitation at MediLodge. I couldn't walk. My body was weak. I couldn't sit up or stand up. I made my first step on the 2nd day with the therapists on the parallel bars. From that time on, I progressed to standing, walking with a walker, climbing stairs, and exercises machines. It has been a joy to have gotten my life back and look forward to going home in the near future. I thank God for such a joyful recovery at MediLodge. The staff + patients are a wonderful experience. Love the therapists; they're awesome! I would recommend MediLodge of Howell.
