New Team Members at MediLodge of Howell!

I chose MediLodge of Howell for myself after I lost my leg to a bone disease. I have always heard it's a great place. The therapy, nursing, and admissions departments were all very helpful! Lisa, a nurse, was nice and understanding. Cathy, a nurse as well, was understanding and always there to talk to. I have had a nice and wonderful stay. I have had my problems and every concern and complaint has been corrected. The staff is always on their toes and two steps ahead.

I came here after ankle joint replacement (surgery). I still cannot use my left foot, as I am not allowed to put weight on it for two more weeks. However, physical therapists showed me how to get on and out of a wheelchair without using my left foot and also how to use a knee roller properly. I am going home now, able to get around by myself! (The people who work here are very helpful and pleasant!)

I chose MediLodge of Howell for my mother, Eugenia. I chose this center for their good reputation, cleanliness, and because it was closer to family and friends. From Wendy in Housekeeping to Daisy Hall, Darren, Dan, Paulette, Marie, Tika, Danielle, Katie, and Liz - They all take wonderful care of my mom and are wonderful!

I chose Medilodge of Howell because of the location and the good staff. Dana in Physical Therapy really stood out. She was very thorough and I got really strong. My experience at Medilodge of Howell was very pleasant and the nurses were great.

The reason we chose MediLodge of Howell is because they helped us through the process from the first referral from the hospital and we felt welcomed from the get-go. Lisa, Kathy, Jennifers (Rose), Dan and Darren (Daisy), Tika, (CNA Aide), Leilini, Kate, Stacie, Joey, Natasha, Wendy, Maria (Housekeeping) were all team members that stood out during my aunt’s stay. Everyone went above and beyond with kindness and compassion for our aunt.

Dear Staff, Nurses & all other employees at MediLodge of Howell, I just wanted to take time to thank you for going above and beyond the 'job description' in showing love, compassion, patience, and kindness. It takes a special gift to work with elderly people who are now facing a difficult [moment in their life]. Even those of you who are janitors and kitchen help, please know that your smiles, jokes, and sweet words made such a difference in my mom's life. Many of you she loved as her extended family. As written in the Livingston County Press & Argus on 3/21/14 "I have just come home from five weeks at Medilodge in Howell. I want everyone to know about the great people who work there. The housekeepers, kitchen crew, physical therapists and nurses; and most of all, the ladies who personally take care all the sick and handicapped souls who don't really want to be there. They never fail to smile and do their work cheerfully and efficiently. They make it bearable. No, they make it pleasant."

PT/OT/ST was awesome in getting her to participate in therapy; from admission to discharge, all staff facilitated a smooth transition, home care and equipment were ready and discharge done quickly. My mother improved and always praised the staff. Everyone smiled!

I was living in a senior living in Anderson, Indiana, in late 2015. I had been sick later half of 2015. I also had two heart attacks in 2015. Starting in January 2016, I had several bouts of pneumonia. In February, I had to go to Saint Johns ER because of trouble breathing. The doctors at Saint johns determined I needed a tracheostomy because my oxygen levels were low. After the surgery, my heart stopped, and they had to do CPR. I was put on a ventilator to help me breathe. I was in the hospitals from February to June. My daughter Tracy had me transferred to Howell, Michigan, at MediLodge for Physical Therapy. I met two therapists Linsey and Austin. I could only walk halfway, but by the end, I was walking both ways several times. I would do some weight lifting. I would ride there bicycle exercise machine. I walked with a walker, and Linsey and Austin would set goals how far to walk. I finally could walk on my own with a brace and cane. I can walk without the brace. I can walk short distances but long distances I have to use it. I went from assisted living to a senior community. I shop for myself and cook. I try to walk a mile and a half every day. I can do many things I couldn't when I was sick. Linsey and Austin had a lot of confidence I would walk but on my own from Medilodge. I feel that if it weren't for those two I would not have done so well.
