While our Senior Olympics were very different this year from years past, we were still able to have a fabulous time! We usually take a team of 5 residents, and 2 alternates to the Armada fairgrounds for the day. They would participate in 6 Olympic events (Shot Put, Basketball, Target Toss, Discus, Kick Ball, and Horseshoes) against our other MediLodge facilities in a fun-filled competition. This year we had to do things a little differently. We had to social distance to keep everyone safe, so we were unable to meet at the fairgrounds. We did hold this fantastic event at our own facility. Holding this yearly celebration at our own facility allowed everyone the opportunity to compete in these 6 events causing many smiles and laughs to be seen and heard in our courtyard! The Ice Cream truck also made several stops throughout the facility for everyone to enjoy an Ice Cream Bar, which was also a huge hit! In these different times, we’re still able to come together (six feet apart, of course), laugh, compete, and have fun! – Coach Chris 💚👏
